Early Lease Termination

In very few cases will Fraternity Row allow a resident to cancel their lease.  In rare cases, Fraternity Row will allow residents to cancel their lease if they are studying abroad or graduating from SDSU prior to the end of their lease.  In any case, all requests must be made in writing and are reviewed on a case by case basis.

Study Abroad

For residents who are leaving mid-year to study abroad, residents may request to cancel their lease as long as they can provide proof that they have been accepted into a study abroad program and the dates of said program.

If a request is approved, the resident will be charged a $600 cancellation fee, but is eligible to receive any over paid rent back.

Withdrawal from SDSU or Graduation

Residents who have completed their studies or are no longer studying at SDSU may request to cancel their lease.  Proof of completion or withdrawal is required in order to consider this request.  Proof includes a letter from your academic advisor, graduation commemcement card, or your withdrawal form stamped and dated from the Registrars office.

If a request is approved, the resident will be charged a $600 cancellation fee, but is eligible to receive any over paid rent back.

Re-Letting Your Space

If you are not eligible to cancel your lease, residents are able to re-let their lease to another student.  In order to re-let, the current resident will need to find someone to take over their lease.  Once they find someone, the new resident will need to complete an application, sign a lease and move in.  Once the new resident moves in, the current resident will be allowed out of their lease.

Upon cancellation of the lease, the resident canceling their lease will be charged a $250 re-let fee to cover the costs of prepping the unit for the new resident.
